The latest IPTV set-top boxes from SmartLabs will enhance the quality of digital television services

Nov. 02, 2011
Following an open tender process, MTS, a leading telecommunications operator in Russia and the CIS, has chosen SmartLabs as a developer of IPTV set-top boxes for the MTS Home TV service.

MTS, a leader in the telecommunications market in Russia and CIS, is gradually developing its interactive digital TV offering under the MTS Home TV brand. As a result of an open tender, the operator has chosen SML-292 set-top boxes developed by SmartLabs, as they fully meet the MTS requirements in terms of functionality, reliability and quality.

Earlier in the spring of this year, SmartLabs has successfully developed for MTS IPTV set-top boxes SML-282 Base.

The SmartLabs SML-292 Premium IPTV set-top box supports Full HD (1920x1080) and enables enhanced connectivity of external devices via two USB ports, optical SPDIF, HDMI with HDCP, and other interfaces. Moreover, the set-top boxes are fully compatible with HDTV and 3D TVs and projectors. Support of the smart Adaptive Streaming technology makes the set-top box compatible with the OTT solutions.

With SML-292, you will be able to offer to your customers a wider range of IPTV services. This is possible because SML-292 Premium has an embedded hard drive to enable even more value-added services (Local PVR, PushVoD, PauseLiveTV).

The subscribers of MTS Home TV can purchase or lease the set-top boxes.

"We are happy that MTS subscribers will be able to enjoy the benefits of the SmartLabs new gen set-top boxes. Versatility, simplicity and ease of operation, stylish and discreet design and high image quality are the key drivers that attract users to SML-292 Premium, making these STBs an effective tool for marketing and promotion of IPTV services. SML-292 Premium are future-proof to support upcoming 3D digital TV capabilities and ensure high quality of the operator's services in the long run", says Mikhail Grachev, CEO of SmartLabs.
