Cypriot Operator PrimeTel Chooses SmartLabs

August 08, 2012, Limassol. SmartLabs announces a contract with a Cypriot operator PrimeTel to supply a cutting-edge solution including a service delivery platform for digital TV SmartTUBE SDP, monitoring system SmartSPY, and development of Hybrid STBs.

Currently, PrimeTel PLC offers traditional IPTV services and is now planning to promote DVB-T broadcasting with interactive services delivered over the Internet (OTT). Under this project, SmartLabs will deploy its SmartTUBE SDP Service Delivery Platform, SmartSPY monitoring solution, integrate them with the security and content encoding systems, and design SML-303 Hybrid STBs to support DVB-T/IP.

With the SmartLabs solutions, PrimeTel PLC plans to significantly strengthen its position in the Cyprus pay TV market. The operator has selected SmartLabs as it meets the operator's needs to implement the hybrid TV project, offering a vast expertise in creation, support and development of complex interactive TV projects in Europe.
