Smartlabs to implement a SaaS OTT solution at Argentine WILTEL

Smartlabs, the leading provider of multi-screen solutions for video streaming, today announces that Argentinian triple-play operator WILTEL has chosen Smartlabs SmartTUBE solution to enhance its video service PLAYME.
WILTEL has assessed several vendors alongside Smartlabs in a competitive tender process. Smartlabs proved its ability to deliver a sophisticated video solution by installing and supporting a successful proof-of-concept system. In addition, WILTEL wanted to utilize a SaaS model of deployment, and Smartlabs offered this flexible and resource-saving option to the operator.
The upgraded PLAYME service will run on a SmartTUBE cloud service management platform and SmartMEDIA content delivery system. WILTEL subscribers will get beautiful and powerful iOS and Android apps for mobile devices, as well as SmartTV Apps for Samsung, LG, and AndroidTV SmartTVs. Smartlabs will also implement a brand-new DRM content protection system and Web Browser UI.
WILTEL is also expected to get a new fleet of Smartlabs SML-5045W wireless STBs in December 2022.
